Delinquency and Default
Please be advised, if your account remains deliquent beyond 90 days, your deliquent loans will be reported to all credit reporting agencies.
Default occurs when your loan has been deliquent for more than 270 days. Default is very serious and may result in enforcement action including, but not limited to:
- Wage garnishment
- Tax refund seizure
- Negative credit reporting
- Capitalized interest and/or fees
- Loss of eligibility for other federal student financial assistance
